Alex Oleksy is a director, dramaturg, educator, and arts administrator invested in supporting contemporary stories rethinking the American future. They thrive in process-oriented, all-hands-on-deck spaces that encourage experimentation in both form and content. Influenced by everything from Bertolt Brecht to hyperpop, Alex loves making weird art with weird (and cool) people.
Alex’s recent and upcoming directing credits include: Recruiting Tomorrow’s Army, Today! (The Tank NYC), Worms (RE/VENUE @ Paradise Factory), sublimation (LimeFest @ The Tank NYC), Vape Lord (Samuel French OOB), The Wash (Portland Stage’s Studio Theater), Patty (Vino Theater), the Up Above (NYC Educational Tour), Pink Morph Suits (The Tank NYC), Decaer, or and Waiting and (Tisch Student Works), Portraits: US (Verbatim Performance Lab), Strange Happenings in the School Library (Luna Stage).
They are currently the Student Affairs Coordinator of Conservatory Training at the Atlantic Theater Company, and a Script Reader at Playwrights Horizons.
